Royal Canin Pledges $5,000 to Chase Away K9 Cancer

At the 2009 DockDogs National Championships in Mason, Ohio, we were able to meet some of the amazing folks from Royal Canin and we were very touched when they pledged $5,000 to Chase Away K9 Cancer at the awards banquet.

This money will help us continue to fund studies which aim to fight and eliminate cancer in dogs.

A huge thanks to Royal Canin and please learn more about them at http://www.royalcanin.us/.

Statement from Royal Canin: With a foundation based on Knowledge and Respect of dogs and cats, we are extremely proud to have the opportunity to support Chase Away K9 Cancer. Royal Canin is fully committed to the health and well-being of dogs and cats, and we are proud to be associated with such a passionate organization whose mission, like ours, is to improve the lives of animals through research and putting the animal first. We would also like to thank DockDogs for their consistent support of such a noble cause.

Our Philosophy: Royal Canin is not your average pet food company. Since our inception in 1967, we have been forerunners in health nutrition because we do things differently. For over 40 years, Royal Canin has remained faithful to the conviction that dogs and cats are not human beings but animals, and true respect obliges us to treat them as such. Most of the other brands on the market put the emphasis on the owners and use them as a starting point for any innovation in canine and feline nutrition. At Royal Canin, we start with the animal; we put the cat and the dog at the heart of our innovation process. Only once we fully understand what the animal needs do we attempt to maximize his health through nutrition. This radically different approach helps us deliver radically different diets.

It doesn't matter how many years, people or resources we've invested-if we can't produce a diet that will make a dramatic improvement in the well-being of the animal, we won't take it to market.  If we don't make a difference, we don't make the food.
