ACVIM Foundation Fellowship Program
We are proud to announce a new Fellowship opportunity!
Program description:
A 2-year research fellowship training program designed to encourage residency-trained ACVIM Candidates and Diplomates to obtain focused research training that will facilitate their transition into academic positions as successful clinician scientists. The overall goal of this program is to increase the number of clinically trained veterinarians that can develop focused research programs, compete successfully for extramural grant funding, and maintain laboratories that will train other clinician scientists in the future.
Applicant eligibility:
The applicant must be in their last year of their residency and in good standing in an ACVIM-approved residency training program, or a recent graduate of an ACVIM-approved residency training program (Diplomate or Board-eligible, residency completed within the last 3 years). The ideal applicant will have a strong interest in both research and clinical service.
Fellowship support:
The fellowship will provide two years of salary and benefits at the NIH postdoctoral pay scale. In addition, fellows may supplement the fellowship income by devoting up to, but no more than, 20% of their time to clinical service, either through a part-time academic position or through work in a private referral practice setting. The support may be used for a finite 2 year Fellowship program without coursework, a Masters program, or as part of a PhD program.
